The consortium of
Italian Computer Science PhD granting
institutions under the auspices of GRIN and in cooperation with
GII, organizes an annual school
offering four graduate-level courses aimed at
first-year PhD students in Computer Science and
Engineering. In addition to introducing students to
timely research topics, the school is meant to promote
acquaintance and collaboration among young European
researchers. The 2008 edition of the School is the
14th in the series and is supported by a generous
contribution from BiCi (Bertinoro international Center
for informatics).
The school will offer 4 courses each consisting of 15 hours of lectures:
- Fault Tolerance in Distributed Systems, Prof. Paulo Veríssimo, Universidade de Lisboa (Portugal)
- Context-Aware Databases: Design, Integration and Applications, Prof. Letizia Tanca, Politecnico di Milano (Italy)
- Introduction to the Theory of Computational Complexity, Prof. Pierluigi Crescenzi, Università di Firenze (Italy)
- Machine Learning, Prof. Lorenza Saitta, Università del Piemonte Orientale (Italy)
